So it's been along time since I blogged last. This summer has been really busy with family events! I hope to stay on board this time with my blogging.

PureElements is another hobbie I am not into and its been getting very busy lately as well. Drew has shot some amazing "trash the dress" pictures and we've booked another one for this sunday. I wedding I shot last October, the bride wants

to trash her dress. So we've decided to meet at the Sandbanks Dunes, so that should be a reall

y fun shoot! Were looking forward to that. I may even start up a PureElements Photography blog. If I have some time this week.

Here are some of the cake's and cupcakes I've made in the last couple of weeks. I am busy this week with cake's, So I hope to post them next week sometime!

Ava also keeps me pretty busy at times too!

This weekend I had a few fun orders! Some new ideas and some old favorites!

This cake wasn't made this weekend, I just found the pictures of it. The customer of this cake asked her 3yr daughter what she wanted for a birthday cake and she said she wanted her "blankey" on the cake. So the mother sent me a picture of the blanket and I made it for the top of the cake, The daughter and mother both loved the cake!

Mason Jar Cupcakes!!

So I've seen these done before on the net and thought what a cute way to eat a cupcake with a spoon! So I wanted to try them out! And they turned out great!!

I'm going to sell these now and there will be lots of different flavors to try :) These ones below are Vanilla cake with cream cheese frosting and sprinkles :)

Okay I'm awfull. I keep forgetting to keep everyone up to date on my cakes! I haven't been posting as many, as some are repeats. Im waiting for some out of this world crazy cakes, which I have a few coming up so will blog them as they come.

I've been brain storming like crazy for new idea

s, And I've come up with a few. One I'm going to try fairly soon and pass off to a few friends for taste try outs! Hopefully its a hit, which I think it will be.

So i've really been slacking on the blogging lately. Even though you wont find any cake pictures in this blog, doesn't mean I haven't been busy. I've had a cake order almost every weekend and I have also booked a wedding order for every month starting May till August so far :)

Lake Placid!

This weekend that just passed I went to Lake Placid with my boyfriend and his family. Our reason to go was to watch his brother, their son Dylan Clarke, play in the NCAA Frozen Four! All though it was a GREAT close game, his team lost :( But Dylan played very well. I enjoyed my time with Drew's family this weekend, Lake Placid is beautiful from what I got to see.

So I'm really not a snow person, but lately I've been enjoying it. Its kinda growing on me. But I think we have enough for the rest of the winter season.

I went out shooting the other day, I think that's what made me fall back in love with it. But shoveling my drive way yesterday was NOT fun at all!

WOW I can not believe how fast I am booking up for February!

I was asked yesterday to make cupcakes for the BIG Olympic event in Picton, So I'm pretty excited about that! Not to mention all the fun birthday cakes I have coming up!

I cant get over how fast little one's grow up. A week today and my little girl will be 2! It seems like just yesterday I was in pain for 3 whole days trying to b

ring her into this world, And now she's running around talking, singing, and dancing! She's the best thing in this world! Everyone should have one :)

Im so excited for 2010 for myself and for Krysti Kakes, Lots of new things happening this year. Lots to look forward too.

I've been keeping up with my daily work outs at the gym and am going into the new years 30lbs lighter! I am officially under what I weighed before I got pregnant with my daughter! I was very excited to see that last time I took a deep breath and stepped on the scale!

All my hard work is starting to pay off! The gym right now has a new years special on if anyone is interested :)

Here's a hint of what's to come this year , Krysti Kakes is getting a whole new look and edge! And I cant WAIT!! :)

So today is my 7th day of being busy before Christmas. I swear I have made a million cookies, and about 6 cakes so far, and I still have 4 days to go and not to mention Friday which is my busiest with 3 cakes and 3 dozen cupcakes, and oh yeah one of those cares is a 3 tier wedding cake.. EKKK I look forward to mid next week, when Im done for a week, maybe try to relax, but probably not seeing how I LOVE to bake! I cant stop! SO BRING IT PEEPS! :)

Also, Meet with Rene Dick, from Scout Design yesterday to go over some great things for my business!

For the last 2 weeks, I've been keeping up with my promise to myself and making it to the gym everyday. Over all I feel healthy and not so tired anymore. I'm already starting to see great results and couldn't be happier! I did get attacked by the machine thou, but just once :) And not to mention all the hot old men that work out there ;) just kidding! But seriously its packed with old men! I sometimes feel like the youngest person there!

I do this everyday but up the cals! :)

This weekend was my 1 year mark for my business! I am so grateful for all the business I've had over my 1 year! I have met some really awesome people, and made some pretty interesting cakes!

So this weekend will be my 1 year anniversary for making cakes! My first year has been a great one for business, meeting new people and trying new ideas! Last year my first cake was Miss Mac's 1st Birthday Ladybug cake, and now I am making her 2nd birthday cake for this weekend!

-I started to get into Christmas a little and brought out a few things for my daughter. Its her 2nd Xmas and its going to be fun because she now knows what gifts are and there purpose.

- Start back at the gym again, this time im NOT going to stop. So far day 2. Wasn't too bad yesterday getting back into it, still burned 400+ cals. But then I ate a truffle from Copper Kettle! Which has the BEST peanut butter and jelly truffles!! There my FAV, if you haven't tired them YOU SHOULD!!

- Also got the new iphone 3gs this past week, and i'm in LOVE! :)

For the last month I've had the pleasure of working with a great photographer from the County.

I first met Michael Grills back in September. He was the photographer for a wedding here in the County and it just so happened that I was also the cake maker for this same wedding. I was really impressed with his work and fell in love with all the pictures he took of my Cake.

So we got talking and he actually enjoyed shooting my work and offered to keep doing it!

He currently has an office in Kelly's Shop downtown Picton and is shooting location sessions, But is looking to expend in the near future with his very own Studio.

Yesterday I took Ava apple picking for her first time, She was a great help and loved picking up the apples off the ground and putting them into the basket, I took them out when she wasn't looking, They weren't the greatest! But it was so cute her helping me. :)

So I never ended up baking from my new cupcake book :( hence why there is no pictures yesterday. Being a mommy you get side tracked and a bit busier.

I did thou have a great weekend, spent it mostly with my mom and baby girl, I got to see my sweet little nephew too!

This weekend, I have another wedding to take on, I will be making a 3 tier cake!

October seems, to be a busy month for me and cakes :) Im very excited, I'm taking on harder jobs and changeling myself!

October also happends to be my FAVORITE month of the year :) Thanksgiving and Halloween need I say more.

This year my lady friends and myself are going to the Elk's Halloween Bash, my mother is putting it together, she knows how to through a mean part-y!

Last night I was getting into the halloween spirit and looking up costumes online and I think I found what I'm going to be!

I think its SUPER cute!!

I also love this one too.. Hmmm???

New Cupcake Book!

So yesterday I bought the Martha Stewart Cupcake book. Im very excited to try out a few new cupcakes from the book.

Im also going to bring in a few samples to The Beancounter in Picton, to see if he likes my work and possibly sell them there! :)

The Beancounter is a great coffee shop on Main st. It carries a lot of different baked goods through out the county and also yummy Gelato :)

So Janet and I are off to the Big City today for some Shopping!!

I am looking forward to spending the day with my fabulous friend doing what we do best! SHOP! And were also kid-less, so its a nice break for us mommies!

Im sure I will find amazing things and come home broke :(

So for the last oh I dunno 6 years maybe I've been watching America's Next Top Model! So last year every wednesday night the girl and myself would get together at Janet's to watch the show and gab a bit.

Well the new Cycle 13 starts tonight :) So myself and the girls are getting back together over at Janet's place again!

So I honor of the show, I am making a Fashion Model Runway Cake! Hehe... Just something fun ti okay around with :) and my ladies LOVE my cake!

Tomorrow I hit the big city with Janet! Were going SHOPPING YAHOOOOO!

2010 New Business Plans!

I cant believe its almost been 1 year of baking cakes! I've had the BEST 1st year! And SO excited to bring in my 2nd year with a BANG!

My 2010 year will be a busy one when it comes to my business. As we speak I am looking into taking Business course's online through Loyalist, Getting new business cards, I'm working with a local guy in the county on the image :) Also going to be looking into bridal shows and featuring my cupcakes in shops through out the county.

So lots of exciting stuff to look forward to for next year!

Scott & Jenny's Wedding Order!

So yesterday I didn't get a chance to blog because i was super busy with this wedding order!

I baked over 120 cupcakes and a 6" cake for the top of the cupcakes tower!

The Bridge came to me with a picture out of a Martha Stewart Magazine, And I was very excited to make this for her!

It was a picture of a cupcake, but I made it into a 6" cake. The flower's are made out of Meringue and turned out pretty cute after 3 try's and learning that you have to use Meringue as soon as you make it or it wont mold.. Urgghhh!

Niall Eccles made the wedding cake top, Its the Bride and Groom! How cute is that!

I might be doing some business with him in a couple of days -Exciting!

Im SO happy with the way the flower's turned out!

I cant begin to tell you how EXCITED I am to get together with some of my oldest friends tonight! I haven't seen these ladies since highschool ended back in 2003! Missy Amo lives far away and is down for a couple of weeks so we all set off to finally get together, its LONG over due!

So Today, I went shopping with my mom and baby girl. I got some GREAT things for my daughters 2nd Birthday, I know I know, its in February but this stuff was CHEAP! I cant tell you just yet what I'm doing cause its kinda of a surprise, But a few of my friends know. I LOVE party planning so I get really excited. And the Winter will give me time to put together and give me something to do during those cold days... Brrrrrr.

I also ordered Ava's Halloween Costume, I hope they have some in stock! Here's a little preview. I think hers might be a little different, and she will deffiantly be WAY cuter in it!

So this morning I'm heading to Buddah Dog for a couple of hours to get to know the place, and for Andrew to get to know me a little better! So it should be fun!

Also messed up a cake order date ekkkk so this weekend I'm not doing the wedding cake and cupcakes till sunday now for Jenny's wedding on Monday :) I cant wait to see how the flower turn out that I'm making for the cake top!

October seems to be booking up fast for cake for me, I love it! :)

My Mother is apart of a association called the Elk and is throwing a HUGE Halloween bash this year and asked me to make the cake! So I'm thinking about making this one below! Im going to get GREAT advertisement for my business!

So yesterday I didn't get a chance to blog, But I did try a new icing for some chocolate cupcakes I made!

Cream Cheese Frosting! And it was sooooooo yummy! Ask my cousin, She ate 4 :)

I made them for our "Degrassi Goes Hollywood" Movie night, they aired the show lastnight at 8pm.

So I received my Peanut Butter & Co cook book yesterday and couldn't WAIT to try it out!

Brandi and myself made the famous 'Elvis' sandwich and it was Sooo good! Even thou we were missing one ingredient, Honey!

So I decided to not take on any cakes this weekend and just spend it doing anything besides cakes (Ha). Next weekend I have a big wedding order which I am pretty excited for!!

Its Friday, So that mean's movie night at Janet's! Also going to play beauty parlor and do each other's hair :)
